The Overview:
It was Sante Spa Cuisine where I had the healthiest dinner of my life. Not just that, it was one of the tastiest too!
The ambience, the food and even the cutlery at Sante reflect the philosophy of good health, that the owner Sonal Barmecha totally believes in.
The place is done up in a lot of greens, thus lending the place a very natural feel. The cutlery is especially designed from Neem Wood, which is environmentally sound as well has associated health benefits. Overall, the concept and ambience at Sante is a winner.
The Tantalising Small Plates:
The meal at Sante began with a fabulous looking Activated Charcoal Hummus served with Activated Charcoal multi-grain khakras. Super looking, super tasting.

If that wasn’t enough, I also had the Activated Charcoal Lemonade! The Spinach, mint & pineapple smoothie was so good ; you must try it to believe it. I promise you can’t taste the spinach in this one. Yup, we had healthy drinks at Sante, unlike the sugar-laden glasses we usually glug everywhere else.

Next up, was the assorted bread basket arrived with 4 flavoured butter foams – Garlic, Mushroom, Carrot, White Butter with Chia seeds. Different concept, good flavors – the garlic one was my favourite.
The Spinach and Beetroot Hummus served with multi-grain khakra was an extremely pretty dish, that tasted pretty good as well. I’m a lover of hummus and pretty much like it in every form.

We tried two salads. The ‘Mediterranean Quinoa Salad with apples, walnuts, cranberries and Danish feta’ & ‘Spaghetti of Vegetables salad with pickled mango vinaigrette and fenugreek leaves’. Both the salads had varying flavor profiles and were outstanding. So tasty, so nourishing and so fresh; you can make a complete meal out of them. The salads here are highly recommended.

Southern Spiced Cottage Cheese – Chunks of paneer marinated in regional Southern spices and served with a watermelon chutney. I absolutely loved this one. Very different from the usual Paneer Tikkas that we end up eating.

The Wholesome Large Plates:
Next up were the pizzas – Verde and Farm Fresh. These were the best. A crisp healthy ragi base topped with cheese and a generous amount of vegetables. These were crisp, yet not oily, delicious, yet not overly cheesy. In short, perfect!

A special mention to the PIZZA VERDE ❤️❤️
Pizza with all the greens – Pesto, Spinach, Methi, Broccoli
And all this on a healthy, stone-baked ragi crust. So thin and so crisp, you’ll forget the regular crust forever.
Flavor packed, nutrient packed, perfectly crisp base and a healthy dose of fresh greens. Absolutely smashing pizza, this one!

The Bajra Riso was a good spin on the usual risotto and had a great bite to it. Oh, and it looked so darned pretty!

The Thai Green Curry was thick, creamy and had bang on flavors. Really went well with the brown rice.

The Guilt-free Desserts:
All of the desserts served at Sante are table sugar – free and do not contain any refined flour. The Oats & Fig Smoothie was fabulous – thick, yummy, healthy.

The Salted Caramel Cake was so wholesome with such a homely flavour, it reminded of the cakes my mom used to bake all my childhood.

The Buckwheat slab cake with a drizzle of Raspberry compote caters to a super niche population of vegans and well as gluten-free. So that’s a winner for those folks. But I wouldn’t recommend this for us regular folks, since Sante has so many more great dessert options to choose from.

I found the Activated Charcoal ice-cream gorgeous to look at, and quite nice to eat. However, one caveat – this is a salty ice-cream with subtle hints of sweetness – not your regular stuff.

The Vegetarian Foodie’s Verdict:
Whether you need Gluten free, Low carb, Sugar free or plain healthy – Sante fulfills all these needs, whilst still with zero compromise on the taste.
Hats off to the chef for crafting such a delightful menu and Sonal for truly portraying her philosophy into every element of the restaurant.
These very things take a restaurant from Good to Excellent ; and Sante definitely falls into the latter category.
