Box8 is a delivery only service with several branches all over the city. Apart from Pune, they also service Mumbai and Bangalore. The best part about them is they deliver till 1 am at night. Plus, they guarantee that you will receive your order within 38 minutes flat, which is super.
The ordering process is fairly simple. You just visit their website www.box8.in, make your selections, put down any special instructions (they take these very seriously, I ordered my meal sans mushroom and they obliged), your delivery details and boom – your meal arrives within 38 minutes.
Right from Punjabi combos to subwiches to rolls to salads and even desserts, Box8 has it all. So I placed a massive order with Box8 for a dinner for 6 and tried a huge range of things.
Amongst all of it, I must admit I loved the all-in-one meal boxes the most!
ALL-IN-1 MEAL BOXES: They give you a choice of 2 gravies (dal makhani, rajma, paneer makhani, spicy paneer, chole), paratha and/or rice, salad and dessert (brownie/gulab jamun). It comes well packed in a neat thali style packaging and is sufficient to fill up one person with a good appetite.
I tried two of these meal boxes – the Dal Makhni box and the Paneer Makhni box; and both were excellent. Highly recommended. Both the gravies were very well prepared. Plus they send spoons too, so even if you order at your workplace, you’re sorted.
PARATHA WRAPS – These are loaded wraps with generous filling stuffed in whole wheat parathas. I found the Paneer Kathi Wrap a bit too spicy for my preference, but the Chef’s Special Paneer Wrap was amazing. Apart from Paneer, it was loaded with babycorn and other vegetables. These wraps are a good option for those looking out for a healthy snack/light meal. I really loved the packaging of this one. They wrap it in an aluminium foil before placing it into a box, so that the meal remains hot.
SANDWICHES – Box8 calls them sandwiches, but they are actually subwiches. They have a lot of options to choose from, all stuffed in a multi-grain bread. I wasn’t too happy with the Bombay Special Sandwich, but the Tandoori Paneer and Veggie Delite sandwiches were pretty good. Overall, a great option to snack on.
The Superfit Paneer Salad was excellent. Pieces of grilled paneer were mixed with plenty of fresh, crunchy vegetables with a garlic yogurt dressing. This salad was perfect in quality and quantity and can easily suffice as lunch for 1 person.
The Lemon Iced Tea that I tried was just about okay. On the ther hand, The Choco Lava Cake was good.
Apart from slight misses, most of the items were a hit. I would definitely want to order again from Box8.
