I had a great meal at Syrakko recently!
The place is located in Kapila Matrix which also houses Local and The Beer Cafe. Syrakko has a very formal look to it and is done up decently. Nothing great in the interiors to write about. The service is efficient and attentive and the food is exemplary.
Here is a lowdown on what we had.
Amuse bouche (complementary) – Cold yogurt soup with flavours of marshmallow and honeydew in a hajmola rimmed shot glass. Amazing! Have absolutely no words for the ingenuity and intensity of flavour of this soup.
Pumpkin sage soup – Rich, homely and comforting. The sage imparted a lovely flavour.
Palate cleanser (complementary) – Watermelon with balsamic reduction. Fresh citrusy burst of flavour.
Pea escalope – One of their signature dishes. Full marks for presentation and the lovely crunch. The taste was good but not superlative.
Blue cheese spinach tagiatelle – Decent pasta, cooked to a perfect al dante. A little bland for my palate. The accompanying garlic bread was one of the best I’ve had though.
Pre dessert (complementary)- Papaya lime sorbet with black salt. Again a superlative dish. Loved loved loved the citrusy flavour.
Wasabi white chocolate parfait – This is their signature dessert. Lovely presentation with an unmissable hint of Wasabi. But we found it to be sumwhat extra sweet for our liking. Yet I recommend everyone to try this dessert atleast once.
The best part – Believe it or not, this entire meal cost us only 1200 bucks. Very very VFM for this quality of food.
The only con I found was the very low number of items to choose from. You can literally try the entire veg menu if you are a gang of friends. Maybe they can introduce some specials on a rotating basis to give us more great food to try..
